July 10 to 31 Miniature paintings exhibition in Los Alcázares
Tiny images of the Mar Menor at the Town Hall of Los Alcázares
An exhibition of unusual paintings by Cartagena artist Rosa de Soto is being held until the end of the month on the first floor of the Town Hall of Los Alcázares under the title of "Memorias del Mar Menor. Paisajes en miniatura", with the stand-out feature being that all of the images are extremely small!
Sometimes painted on surfaces no bigger than a thumbnail, many of them consisting of shells picked up on local beaches, the delicate images show scenes such as sunsets over the Mar Menor, boats on the still water of the lagoon, and although they are tiny, they capture the spirit of this unique land- and seascape.
The official opening of the exhibition is on Friday 10th July at 20.00, after which it can be visited on every day of the week except Sunday from 9.00 to 14.00.
