July 23 ZZ Top live in concert in Murcia
The legendary US rock band are still touring and attracting sellout audiences
After almost 50 years together Billy Gibbons, Frank Beard and Elwood Francis (replacing the late and lamented Dusty Hill) are still on the road, taking the image made famous by their iconic videos in the 1980s around the world on a tour which stops off at the bull ring in Murcia on 23rd July 2026.
It was the 1983 album Eliminator which gave ZZ Top a cult following in the UK, with singles hits over the next couple of years including Sharp Dressed Man, Gimme All Your Loving and Rough Boy. But their unmistakeable image (the custom car, the huge beards worn by the two men not named Beard, their appearance in Back to the Future 3) concealed a solid musical base in the traditions of blues, rhythm and rock music. This made them irresistible to audiences in the southern USA and, eventually, in much of Europe.
They are still recording albums and have remained active since Hill’s death in 2021, and their concert in Murcia begins on 23rd July at 22.00. Tickets are available online here starting at 50 euros plus costs, but hurry! Various parts of the arena are already sold out, and the remainder will surely follow well before the event!
