July 18 “Aguilas: history and tradition”, a guided tour with food and drink included

Learn about Águilas from the municipal archaeologist and through the local cuisine!

This guided tour in Águilas is organized by the local association of bars and restaurants (Hosteáguilas) and includes not only a tasting of typical local cuisine but also an informative visit to some of the most interesting historical sites in the town.

In the company of the municipal archaeologist as well as a fully qualified tour guide, participants head first for the archaeological museum and then to the remains of the local thermal baths, before moving on to the Esparto Grass museum, which commemorates the grass weaving which played a crucial role in the local economy alongside fishing and, in later centuries, the mining exports from the port. Admission to all three centres is included in the price of the tour (12 euros), which also includes a tasting of local culinary products and a drink when the visits conclude.

Registration is available online here and although the visit begins at 11.00 those taking part are asked to arrive at the starting point (the monument to the railways, next to the marina and a two-minute walk from the tourist office) at 10.50. Plenty of drinking water and sun cream is recommended.
