Guidelines for submitting articles to San Javier Today
Hello, and thank you for choosing sanjavier.today to publicise your organisation’s info or event.
San Javier Today is a website set up by Murcia Today specifically for residents of the urbanisation in Southwest Murcia, providing news and information on what’s happening in the local area, which is the largest English-speaking expat area in the Region of Murcia.
When submitting text to be included on San Javier Today, please abide by the following guidelines so we can upload your article as swiftly as possible:
Send an email to editor@spaintodayonline.com or contact@murciatoday.com
Attach the information in a Word Document or Google Doc
Include all relevant points, including:
Who is the organisation running the event?
Where is it happening?
When?
How much does it cost?
Is it necessary to book beforehand, or can people just show up on the day?
…but try not to exceed 300 words
Also attach a photo to illustrate your article, no more than 100kb

July 16 to 25 Annual theatre festival in Caravaca de la Cruz
Seven varied events at the open-air venue of the bullring in Caravaca de la Cruz
The program has been unveiled for the 45th annual Theatre Week in Caravaca de la Cruz, which is being held from 16th to 25th July, with the highlight for non-Spanish speaking audiences perhaps being the staging of “Friends, a Musical Parody” on Saturday 25th.
The seven events included in the 2026 edition of the event are a blend of the classics and the contemporary, as can be seen below;
Thursday July 16
22.30: “Menú Cerrado”, a comedy written by Jordi Casanovas, directed by Carlos Aladro and starring Nacho López, Raúl Fernández de Pablo and Carlos Santos. An insightful reflection on friendship, identiry and hidden truths.
Friday July 17
22.30: “Operetta”, an original show combining a capela singing, drama and humour, with 14 performers on stage and over 400 show behind the cast already.
Saturday July 18
22.30: “Maldita Herencia”, another comedy for all the family, directed by Alfredo Ávila: intrigue, extravagant characters and unexpected developments!
Wednesday July 22
21.00: “The Golden Experience”, a tribute to the K-Pop Warriors for music fans belonging to the younger generation.
Thursday July 23
22.30: “La Desconquista”, performed by the Ron Lalá company: live music and humorous verses combine with drama and satire as the story of the conquest of the Indies is retold.
Friday July 24
22.30: “Ambulant”, one of the best contemporary circus shows in Spain at present, with live music and excellent staging and various prizes already received.
Saturday July 25
22.30: The last night features “Mejor no decirlo”, starring Imanol Arias, one of Spain’s most popular film, theatre and television actors, and his equally well-known wife María Barranco. The plot offers insights into the daily reality of relationships between couples.
All seven shows take place in the bull ring of Caravaca and tickets will be made available online here although they are also available from the tourist information point in the Plaza del Arco (weekdays from 10.30) and in the two hours prior to each show at the box office of the bull ring.
