July 10 Watch the World Cup with the Spanish on the beach front in Santiago de la Ribera
A big screen shows the match on Explanada Barnuevo as Spain take on Belgium in Los Angeles
Just to inform anyone who might have been living in a cave in The Valley That Time Forgot for the last few weeks, the football World Cup is currently taking place, and Spain (again with apologies to those who take any interest at all in the outside world!) have now reached the quarter finals, in which they play Belgium on Friday evening.
The match kicks off at 21.00 and if you want to enjoy all the nerves, excitement and perhaps joy (or sadness) of the occasion, the best place to head for in San Javier is the seafront on Explanada Barnuevo. The Town Hall has already confirmed that a big screen will be set up for the match and, maybe in a display of over-confidence, a live performance by The Apparatus Band is being held “to celebrate” immediately afterwards.
Screens are also being installed in the Plaza de España in the centre of San Javier and in Plaza Castillo de Mar in La Manga del Mar Menor.
Football fan or not, here’s a chance to live the event with the Spanish, sharing their passion and hopes for a couple of hours!
