January 30 Parade and Nacho Casado in concert in Yecla
Indie pop and acoustic guitar songs at the Auditorio Juan Miguel Benedito in Yecla
A special concert in Yecla on Friday 30th January features local artist Antonio Galván, better known by his stage name of Parade, and Nacho Casado.
Parade is one of the more popular musicians on the Spanish indie pop scene, sometimes seen as a representative of the “Murcia New Wave”, although his eclectic nature is reflected in the fact that he freely admits to being influenced by such diverse artists as Sigue Sigue Sputnik, David Bowie, The Beach Boys, Jimmy Webb and Dion and The Belmonts. By profession he is a music teacher, but in his free time he has released ten albums over the last 20 years.
Nacho Casado, meanwhile, is a full-time singer, guitarist and songwriter, drifting easily from Habanera music to British folk to Brazilian rhythms to the pop music of the 1960s, wyhile always maintaining his Mediterranean spirit. Among his influences he quotes João Gilberto, Nick Drake and The Beatles, and over the years he has performed all over the world including Japan, Portugal, France and Germany.
The concert on 30th January begins at 20.30 at the Auditorio Municipal "Juan Miguel Benedito" in the Plaza Mayor (click for map) with tickets priced at just 5 euros and available from the box office of the Teatro Concha Segura on the day before the event between 19.30 and 21.00, or on the evening of the show an hour before the concert begins.
More visiting information is available from the tourist office of Yecla (email turismo@yecla.es) or, for more local events, news and visiting information in English, go to the home page of Yecla Today.
