January 3 Free guided tour of Yecla for Christmas
Enjoy the festive atmosphere of a traditional Yecla Christmas!
The town of Yecla in the north of the Region of Murcia enjoys Christmas in a rather different way from others closer to the coast, with the creation of nativity scenes at the heart of the winter celebrations.
This guided tour (which is held in Spanish) takes in some of the largest and most detailed “Belenes” in Yecla as well as the most important monuments and buildings, and as the group makes its way around the town Christmas carols will be sung at various stop-off points!
The tour begins at 19.00 at the Idolillos-ARS RUPESTRIA sculptures in the Parque de la Constitución and is expected to last approximately two hours. Online reservations can be made here. Anyone joining the visit is encouraged to bring not only warm clothing but also sleighbells, tambourines and any other festive instrumentation which might enhance the mood!
In addition, after all that walking and singing you are of course welcome to enjoy a warming dinner at any of the restaurants in the town centre!
More visiting information is available from the tourist office of Yecla (email turismo@yecla.es) or, for more local events, news and visiting information in English, go to the home page of Yecla Today.
