San Javier Today is a website set up by Murcia Today specifically for residents of the urbanisation in Southwest Murcia, providing news and information on what’s happening in the local area, which is the largest English-speaking expat area in the Region of Murcia.
When submitting text to be included on San Javier Today, please abide by the following guidelines so we can upload your article as swiftly as possible:

Attach the information in a Word Document or Google Doc
Include all relevant points, including:
Who is the organisation running the event?
Where is it happening?
When?
How much does it cost?
Is it necessary to book beforehand, or can people just show up on the day?

January 18 and 19 Annual fiestas in the Aguilas village of Tébar
Tébar celebrates the feast day of San Antonio Abad
San Antonio Abad, also known as San Antón, is the patron saint of a startling variety of aspects of life including not only animals but also skin diseases, farmers, butchers, basket makers, brush-makers and gravediggers, and he also holds the distinction of being the honorary patron of the small village of Tébar a few kilometres north of Águilas.
Nestling beneath the hill on which the ruined castle of Tébar stands, the village is hosting a number of activities over the weekend of January 18 and 19, following the actual feast day of January 17:
Saturday January 18
9.00: Guided hike through the sites of archaeological interest in and around the village: registration 6 euros including a post-hike brunch of migas, fruit and a drink.
21.00: Entertainment from comedian Manolo El Catalino.
22.00: Live flamenco presented by Luis Terri, with El Niño de Peñaflor accopmanied by guitarist Antonio García.
Sunday January 19
13.00: Mass and the traditional blessing of animals.
13.30: An auction to decide who are the bearers of the figure of the saint in the procession which follows.
14.00: Rice and turkey for all (7.50 euros per person).
The procession is follwed b yan auction dance, raffles and traditional music and dancing by the Cuadrillas of Cuesta de Gos.
