Guidelines for submitting articles to San Javier Today
Hello, and thank you for choosing sanjavier.today to publicise your organisation’s info or event.
San Javier Today is a website set up by Murcia Today specifically for residents of the urbanisation in Southwest Murcia, providing news and information on what’s happening in the local area, which is the largest English-speaking expat area in the Region of Murcia.
When submitting text to be included on San Javier Today, please abide by the following guidelines so we can upload your article as swiftly as possible:

Attach the information in a Word Document or Google Doc
Include all relevant points, including:
Who is the organisation running the event?
Where is it happening?
When?
How much does it cost?
Is it necessary to book beforehand, or can people just show up on the day?
…but try not to exceed 300 words
Also attach a photo to illustrate your article, no more than 100kb

January 17 and 18 Annual fiestas in the Águilas village of Tébar
The fiestas of Tébar are held in honour of San Antonio Abad
The small village of Tébar in the municipality of Águilas is holding its annual fiestas in honour of the patron saint, San Antonio Abad, over the weekend of 17th and 18th January, with the following activities and events scheduled:
Saturday January 17
9.00: A guided hike is led by the municipal archaeologist, with the rpice for taking part being 6 euros (although this includes a warming plate of migas, a drink and fruit).
21.00: An evening of trovo, copla and pascuas music with performances by El Andaluz, El Marqués, El Marinas, Mayte Durán and the Cuadrilla de Santa Gertrudis.
Sunday January 18
13.15: Holy Mass and the traditional blessing of pets and animals (San Antonio Abad, or Anthony the Great in English, is the patron saint of a startling variety of aspects of life including not only animals but also skin diseases, farmers, butchers, basket makers, brush-makers and gravediggers!)
13.45: Bods are made for the honour of helping to carry the figure of the saint in procession around the village, and the procession then takes place.
14.30: Paella for all (7.50 euros per person), followed by the auction dance, raffles and music and dancing from the Cuadrilla of Cuesta de Gos.
