Hostel in Las Fuentes del Marqués almost ready to reopen after enlargement and improvement
Caravaca continues to protect, preserve and promote the beauty spot just outside the city centre
Work on the hostel located in the Las Fuentes del Marqués beauty spot just outside Caravaca de la Cruz is now entering its final stage, preparing the way for the facility to welcome more overnight visitors in greater comfort than before.
This project is part of the overall commitment shown by the Town Hall to preserve and protect Las Fuentes del Marqués, promoting sustainable tourism and leisure activities, and in this case raising the standard of the hostel to allow it to be included in the catalogues of youth hostels compiled by the regional and national authorities. The newly refurbished hostel will offer a capacity of 66 visitors at any one time (an increase of 18), as well as improved levels of accessibility, energy efficiency and comfort.
Specifically, the entrance has been adapted for those of limited mobility, disabled toilet facilities have been installed, a new double room has been created and a new dormitory with its own bathroom has been added. In addition, the plumbing and electrical installations have been updated.
The hostel is alongside the Nature centre of Las Fuentes del Marqués, which itself reopened last year after improvements and refurbishment.
