Half-price water and waste bills for pensioners and large families in Los Alcázares
Ayuntamiento launches new discount scheme for essential services, with applications open until Wednesday December 31
Residents in Los Alcázares who are pensioners or part of large families could see their water, sewage, and rubbish collection bills slashed by half, thanks to a new initiative from the Ayuntamiento. The scheme is designed to provide real, targeted financial relief to those who need it most.Applications for the 50% discount are now being accepted and will remain open until Wednesday December 31, 2025. Anyone interested in the scheme needs to fill out the official application form and provide the necessary paperwork at the Ayuntamiento’s General Registry during public opening hours.
To qualify for the discount, applicants must:
- Be on the municipal register in Los Alcázares
- Hold the contract for water and waste services at their home
- Prove they are a pensioner or that their household counts as a large family
- Be up to date with all municipal payments
Forms are easy to find online, on the Ayuntamiento website, or at local council offices, making the process as simple as possible for everyone.
The mayor of Los Alcázares, Mario Cervera, commented, “This is a measure intended to provide relief to our most vulnerable residents, because we know that basic expenses are especially burdensome for pensioners and large families. We want no one in Los Alcázares to be left behind when it comes to accessing essential services such as water, sanitation, and waste collection. This 50% discount represents a real financial relief for many households.”
The Ayuntamiento encourages all eligible residents to apply within the deadline and provide all required supporting documents. This latest move, they say, “reaffirms our commitment to social justice and the well-being of residents most in need, helping to ensure equal access to basic services.”
