Free Spanish-language tours of Lorca in Spanish January 2026
Discover the most important buildings of the old city centre on a 90-minute tour of Lorca!
For those with enough understanding of the Spanish language these free tours of the city of Lorca are a great way to see the historic city and some of its most important monumental buildings during a 90-minute walk in the old centre.
The route begins at the La Merced visitors centre and crosses the rambla (the floodwater channel which cuts across the city) to the only gate remaining from the medieval city wall, the Porche de San Antonio. It then heads to the Plaza de España, where the majestic Former Collegiate Church of San Patricio and the Town Hall building dominate the architecture, while the narrative of the official guide reveals some of the secrets of the spectacular annual Semana Santa processions (classified as being of International Tourist Interest).
The tour ends at the Palacio de Guevara, a baroque jewel of a palatial residence and now home to the main tourist office of Lorca.
This visit is available every Tuesday and Friday in January, starting at 17.00 and lasting approximately an hour and a half. For further information call 968 479003 or 968 959646.
Although the visit is free of charge, those taking part are welcome to donate whatever amount they feel is appropriate to the tour guide!
For more local events, news and visiting information contact the tourist office at the Palacio de Guevara (telephone 968 441914) or go to the home page of Lorca Today.
