Guidelines for submitting articles to San Javier Today
Hello, and thank you for choosing sanjavier.today to publicise your organisation’s info or event.
San Javier Today is a website set up by Murcia Today specifically for residents of the urbanisation in Southwest Murcia, providing news and information on what’s happening in the local area, which is the largest English-speaking expat area in the Region of Murcia.
When submitting text to be included on San Javier Today, please abide by the following guidelines so we can upload your article as swiftly as possible:
Send an email to editor@spaintodayonline.com or contact@murciatoday.com
Attach the information in a Word Document or Google Doc
Include all relevant points, including:
Who is the organisation running the event?
Where is it happening?
When?
How much does it cost?
Is it necessary to book beforehand, or can people just show up on the day?
…but try not to exceed 300 words
Also attach a photo to illustrate your article, no more than 100kb

February 16 to 22 Carnival celebrations in Los Alcázares
Colour, music, costumes for residents of all ages – and their pets!
The Carnival celebrations in Los Alcázares in 2026 promise to be full of colour and fun for all ages, with a series of events as Lent begins and signs begin to appear that spring weather is at last making an appearance in the Costa Cálida.
Monday February 16
16.00: A Carnival fiesta for the Third Age at the Centro de la Tercera Edad Adolfo López, with prizes for the best costumes.
Tuesday February 17
17.00 to 20.00: Children’s Carnival in Avenida de la Constitución, near Plaza Miguel de Cervantes, with singing, dancing, animation, workshops, fase-painting, bouncy castles and plenty more surprises!
Saturday February 21
16.00: The grand parade begins in Avenida de la Libertad and the 25 Carnival troupes make their way to Plaza Manuel Floreal Menárguez, where prizes are awarded before the party continues with DJ music providing the atmosphere.
Sunday February 22
10.00: A charity Canine Carnival event begins in the Plaza del Espejo, including a parade of dogs which are up for adoption, paella for all (human owners, not their pets), refreshments, a doggy costume contest and a photocall.
