Guidelines for submitting articles to San Javier Today
Hello, and thank you for choosing sanjavier.today to publicise your organisation’s info or event.
San Javier Today is a website set up by Murcia Today specifically for residents of the urbanisation in Southwest Murcia, providing news and information on what’s happening in the local area, which is the largest English-speaking expat area in the Region of Murcia.
When submitting text to be included on San Javier Today, please abide by the following guidelines so we can upload your article as swiftly as possible:
Send an email to editor@spaintodayonline.com or contact@murciatoday.com
Attach the information in a Word Document or Google Doc
Include all relevant points, including:
Who is the organisation running the event?
Where is it happening?
When?
How much does it cost?
Is it necessary to book beforehand, or can people just show up on the day?
…but try not to exceed 300 words
Also attach a photo to illustrate your article, no more than 100kb

February 8 Free guided hike on the mountain of La Panadera near Mazarrón
Enjoy spectacular sea views and coastal air on this scenic walk near La Azohía
If you’re looking for a healthy way to explore the beautiful Murcia coastline, don’t miss this free guided hiking route on the Monte de La Panadera behind La Azohía on Sunday 8th February, starting at 11.00 and organized by the Mazarrón Tourist Office.
The invigorating 5.7-kilometre circular hike takes you through the rugged hills behind La Azohía, along a stretch of the scenic GR-92 coastal trail. Whether you’re a seasoned walker or just enjoy the great outdoors, this hike offers stunning views, fresh air and a morning well spent. but please note, this route is not recommended for anyone who suffers from vertigo!
Expect panoramic views over the sea and cliffs as the route winds from near the old Santa Elena watchtower, up to the Collado de los Siete Cucones, nestled between Pico de La Panadera and the Cabo Tiñoso communications mast, before looping back to the coast.
The walk is expected to last approximately 3 hours and is classified as being of medium difficulty. Please ensure you are wearing sturdy walking shoes, and bring drinking water and walking poles if you have them. Pets are not allowed!
