San Javier Today is a website set up by Murcia Today specifically for residents of the urbanisation in Southwest Murcia, providing news and information on what’s happening in the local area, which is the largest English-speaking expat area in the Region of Murcia.
When submitting text to be included on San Javier Today, please abide by the following guidelines so we can upload your article as swiftly as possible:
Send an email to editor@spaintodayonline.com or contact@murciatoday.com
Attach the information in a Word Document or Google Doc
Include all relevant points, including:
Who is the organisation running the event?
Where is it happening?
When?
How much does it cost?
Is it necessary to book beforehand, or can people just show up on the day?
…but try not to exceed 300 words
Also attach a photo to illustrate your article, no more than 100kb

February 7-8 and 14-15 Terra Natura Murcia roars into Carnival with animal magic for all ages
Four colourful days of costumes, crafts and fun await families at the Murcia zoo's special Animal Carnival
Fancy a Carnival celebration that's a bit different this year? Terra Natura Murcia has got something truly special lined up. Over two weekends, on February 7-8 and 14-15, the park turns into a riot of colour, feathers and laughter with its Animal Carnival. It's the perfect outing whether you're bringing the kids, grandkids or just fancy joining in the fun yourself.What to expect at Animal Carnival
- Face painting extravaganza: From 11am to 1.30pm in Plaza de los Leones, let the kids (or you!) transform into their favourite animals with vibrant, feathery Carnival designs. It's a hit with all ages.
- Creative craft sessions: Running 12.30pm to 4.30pm at the Wetland, get hands-on making Carnival souvenirs to take home. A lovely way to spark some imagination.
- Pedal car circuit: From 2pm to 4.30pm, also in the Wetland, the little speed demons can race around the track and burn off some energy.
- Inflatable castle fun: Between 2.30pm and 4.30pm in Plaza de los Leones, bouncing awaits. You'll be smiling just watching them leap about.
