February 7, 8 and 28, Carnival 2026 in Lorca
The Lorca Carnival celebrations continue to grow year after year
A couple of changes have been made to the Carnival celebrations in the city of Lorca over the last couple of years, with the decision to hold the main parades earlier than in other municipalities bringing about a higher level of participation in the events, and in 2026 the main parade is taking place on Saturday 7th February, with 25 troupes around 1,250 people participating.
The program includes the following main events:
Saturday Feburary 7
18.00: The main Carnival parade. Route: Avenida de Juan Carlos I, Plaza del Óvalo, Calle Santa Paula, Calle Músico Juan Antonio Gómez Navarro, Calle Príncipe Alfonso and Calle Lope Gisbert.
Sunday February 8
11.30: Children’s Carnival in the Plaza de Calderón de la Barca, with mask making and painting and a costume competition (with prizes for the best outfits!).
Saturday February 28
17.00 and 19.30: Carnival gala at the Auditorio Margarita Lozano.
