February 6 to March 30 Oscar Vaillard photography exhibition in Jumilla
A portrait of Jumilla in the 1920s at the Wine Museum in Jumilla
Oscar Vaillard was a pioneering French photographer who lived from 1859 to 1941, spending much of his life in Spain, especially after acquiring his first camera in 1901.
This collection of some of his work from the 1920s illustrates the social life, traditions, monuments, Semana Santa parades, common professional occupations and some important events of the time, and form part of the legacy which was bequeathed to Jumilla a few years ago by the photographer’s daughter, Amelia Vaillard.
The exhibition at the Wine Museum in Jumilla can be visited until the end of February during the following opening hours:
Tuesday to Saturday 10.00 to 14.00 and 17.00 to 20.00
Sundays and public holidays: 11.00 to 14.00
