San Javier Today is a website set up by Murcia Today specifically for residents of the urbanisation in Southwest Murcia, providing news and information on what’s happening in the local area, which is the largest English-speaking expat area in the Region of Murcia.
When submitting text to be included on San Javier Today, please abide by the following guidelines so we can upload your article as swiftly as possible:
Send an email to editor@spaintodayonline.com or contact@murciatoday.com
Attach the information in a Word Document or Google Doc
Include all relevant points, including:
Who is the organisation running the event?
Where is it happening?
When?
How much does it cost?
Is it necessary to book beforehand, or can people just show up on the day?
…but try not to exceed 300 words
Also attach a photo to illustrate your article, no more than 100kb

February 27 Screening of El Dorado in original version at the Town Hall of Los Alcázares
The Howard Hawks classic in a new season of Cineforum screenings in Los Alcázares
The Asociación Eco Cultural de Los Alcázares and the Culture department of the Town Hall have launched another “Cinefórum” season of classic cinema screenings consisting of a selection of 5 great movies during the first 5 months of 2026.
The season continues at 18.30 on Friday 27th February with “El Dorado”, directed by Howard Hawks in 1966 and starring John Wayne and Robert Mitchum, with appearances by James Caan, Charlene Holt, Arthur Hunnicutt and Ed Asner among others.
This classic western was a huge box office success, with screenplay writer Leigh Brackett describing it as being one of her best pieces of work, and has a 96 per cent approval rating on review compiler Rotten Tomatoes.
Entry to the Salón de Plenos of the Town Hall for this screening, as well as a short explanatory chat which will be given in Spanish, is free of charge, making this a great way to spend your Friday evening!
