The La Manga Club bar and restaurant was featured on the Spanish TV show Batalla de Restaurantes
Last November, La Solana Bar & Restaurant at La Quinta were selected to participate in the ‘Batalla de Restaurantes’ (Battle of the Restaurants), a brand-new cook-off show created by La Sexta (Channel 6), the renowned national Spanish television channel, and hosted by Spanish celebrity chef Alberto Chicote.Focusing on showcasing each chef’s talents in producing regional dishes, four restaurants were chosen from each of eight regions in Spain, with programmes airing over eight episodes and La Solana appearing on March 14, 2024.La Solana was chosen to represent the Region of Murcia as the result of extensive research into customer reviews, press articles and social media advertising of hundreds of top-class restaurants. The other competitors were: Restaurante Maloca, Freiduría Mar Menor and Chiringuito Cala Reona. All the restaurants were judged on a number of criteria, including the preparation and delivery of the regional dish Caldero. The cook-off was highly competitive and it was very difficult to separate the top two with La Solana coming runners up to the eventual winners. It was a fantastic achievement for La Solana to have been chosen from so many potential restaurants in the area and an outstanding effort from their head chef Adrián and his assistants Adriana and Pilar in delivering some wonderful dishes. This TV show gave La Quinta and La Solana an excellent opportunity to showcase its staff, facilities and cuisine, and will no doubt further raise their profile and encourage visitors to visit their restaurant over the coming months.Visit La Solana Bar & Restaurant at La Quinta and see for yourself!
