Excitement growing in Jumilla ahead of the start of the annual fiestas on August 8
Musical entertainment in Jumilla includes the Sonovin festival and free concerts by Maestro Espada, Medina Azahara, Daviles de Novelda and El Consorcio
The official poster for this year’s annual fiestas in Jumilla in northern Murcia, designed by Luis Ruiz and Juan Canicio, has been presented, and the musical and other entertainments have been outlined for the days between 8th and 17th August.
The presentation took place in the Jardín del Rey Don Pedro I, which is the hub around which the fiestas revolve, and it was confirmed that the main musical events begin on Saturday August 9 with the “Sonovin” event, headlined by Shinova with support from the local band Birman and Madbel DJ.
On Sunday August 10 it’s the turn of the new stars Maestro Espada at the Velada Folk evening, and on Tuesday August 12 the legendary Andalusian rock band Medina Azahara perform on the main fiestas stage in the grounds of the Arzobispo Lozano secondary school.
On Wednesday August 13 there is entertainment for children with a Peter Pan musical, while young adults will be looking forward to the show by Daviles de Novelda the following evening.
Bringing down the curtain on the fiestas are El Consorcio, who have been creating a huge musical legacy since they made the big time as long ago as 1993.
Admission to all of these events is free of charge with the exception of the Sonovin event on 9th August.
