Espacio Mediterráneo brings K-Pop magic to Cartagena for its 19th anniversary
A colourful month of workshops, dance, prizes and a big finale show is underway at the shopping centre
The K-Pop universe has landed in Cartagena, and Espacio Mediterráneo is the place to be. The shopping centre is celebrating its 19th anniversary with its lively K-Pop Backstage event, which kicked off on May 15 and is already rocking the centre with music, dance and all kinds of fun, youthful energy.Running through to Sunday May 31, the event has transformed the centre into an immersive world inspired by Korean pop culture. There are creative workshops, dance sessions, themed photocalls and the K-Pop Corner Zone, where visitors can play games linked to the shopping centre app and win prizes. It is all about feeling like a real K-Pop star for the day, even if just for a few minutes.
The local touch is strong too. Espacio Mediterráneo is hosting a dance contest with amateur groups from the Cartagena area, giving local talent a proper stage. And then there is the grand finale on Sunday May 31, when the centre will host a live show with artists dressed as K-Pop idols. Expect high-energy choreography, live performances and a friendly meet-and-greet with the public.
The programme is already in full swing, with activities taking place on Fridays, Saturdays and selected Sundays:
- Fridays: 6.00pm to 8.00pm.
- Saturdays: 12.00pm to 2.00pm and 6.00pm to 8.00pm.
- Sunday May 31, final show: 12.00pm to 2.00pm and 5.30pm to 8.00pm.
There is even a chance to win a real K-Pop treasure. A social media giveaway is running on Instagram from May 12- June 1. To enter, simply follow Espacio Mediterráneo, like the post and mention a friend in the comments. Two lucky winners will be announced on June 1, with the prize being BTS’s A’RIRANG The 5th Album (Living Legend Ver.). Winners can pick up their prize at the Information Point.
Espacio Mediterráneo is one of the Region of Murcia’s leading shopping centres, known for its shops, leisure and dining.
