Escape to Tabarca Island this summer with Raquel Tours Murcia

Crystal clear waters and a charming fishing village await on this popular day trip from the Region of Murcia resorts

Escape to Tabarca Island this summer with Raquel Tours Murcia
There's a small island just off the coast of Alicante that most visitors to the Region of Murcia never get round to seeing, and Raquel Tours Murcia has built a full day trip around getting you there.

The journey starts with a coach pickup from your resort, followed by a ferry crossing from Alicante Port to Tabarca, Spain's tiniest permanently inhabited island.

The crossing gives you sweeping views of the coastline before you arrive somewhere quite different from the mainland: narrow streets, old town walls, a small working fishing harbour and water clear enough to see straight to the bottom.

You'll have around five hours to explore, whether that means a long lazy lunch of fresh seafood, a swim, some snorkelling or just wandering around without any particular plan.

Tabarca has built a reputation as one of the best day trips from the Region of Murcia, and it's easy to see why once you're there. Between the beaches, the old town and the seafood restaurants dotted along the seafront, there's enough to fill the day without it ever feeling rushed.

Itinerary

  • Around 10:00 – Pickup from your resort (exact time depends on location)
  • Around 12:00 – Ferry departs from Alicante Port
  • Enjoy around 5 hours of free time to explore Tabarca Island
  • 18:00 – Return ferry and coach journey back to the Region of Murcia

Highlights

  • Free bottle of water when boarding the bus
  • Return coach transport from Murcia
  • Ferry crossing from Alicante Port
  • A full day to explore beautiful Tabarca Island
  • One of the Costa Blanca's top day trips
  • Great for swimming and snorkelling

Everything is included, from the return coach transport to your ferry tickets, so all you need to do is turn up and enjoy the day.

Sunday July 19 is already fully booked, though you can join the wait list in case a space opens up. The next available dates are Sunday August 2, Sunday August 16 and Sunday August 30, 2026.

The trip costs just €53 for adults and €44 for children up to the age of 12. Pickup points include Hacienda del Álamo Golf Resort, La Torre Golf Resort, El Valle Golf Resort, Altaona Golf Resort, Las Terrazas de la Torre Golf Resort, Mar Menor Golf Resort, Santa Rosalía, Roda Golf, La Serena Golf, Corvera Golf Resort and Murcia city, with other pickup locations available on request.

Guided tours are available in English, Dutch, German, French, Italian and Spanish, making this an easy choice for the many different nationalities who live in and visit the Region.

Getting to Murcia

If you're flying in for a trip like this, Corvera Airport (Murcia International, RMU) is the most convenient option for most visitors, particularly if you're staying near one of the Region's golf resorts, thanks to quick arrivals and an easy check-in process.

Raquel Tours has put together a handy flight comparison tool covering routes from the UK, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany and beyond, so you can find the best available fares for your dates.

Where to stay

For anywhere to stay in the Region, from golf hotels near the top courses to beachside spots in Mazarrón or La Manga, or something more central in Murcia city, Raquel Tours also has a handy accommodation guide to help you compare your options and find something that suits your trip, whether that's the coast, the golf courses or the warm year-round climate that draws people to the region in the first place.
