San Javier Today is a website set up by Murcia Today specifically for residents of the urbanisation in Southwest Murcia, providing news and information on what’s happening in the local area, which is the largest English-speaking expat area in the Region of Murcia.
When submitting text to be included on San Javier Today, please abide by the following guidelines so we can upload your article as swiftly as possible:

Attach the information in a Word Document or Google Doc
Include all relevant points, including:
Who is the organisation running the event?
Where is it happening?
When?
How much does it cost?
Is it necessary to book beforehand, or can people just show up on the day?
…but try not to exceed 300 words
Also attach a photo to illustrate your article, no more than 100kb
December 6 to 9 Medieval market in Caravaca de la Cruz
Revisit the Middle Ages in the Holy City of Caravaca!
Over the long holiday weekend of 6th to 9th December the 20th annual medieval market is being held in the old centre of Caravaca de la Cruz, specifically in Gran Vía, Calle Canalica, Calle Puentecilla, Plaza del Arco, Plaza Nueva, Calle de las Monjas, Calle Colegio, Paseo de Santa Clara, Calle Mayor, Calle Rafael Tejeo and Calle Santísimo.
The market begins at 11.30 on Friday December 6 with an initial musical parade in the streets, including soldiers from the Medieval Encampment, dancers, druids, knights and many others, and scattered among the 250 stands and stalls there are also workshops and demonstrations of gold and silver smithing, esparto grass weaving, carpentry and candle making.
The 15 musical and drama shows include “Danzas de Arabia” and others devoted to tales of fantastical creatures, elves and dwarfs, an encahnted forest, a young knight and witches’ potions. Some of the venues are the Medieval Encampment in the Paseo de Santa Clara, the children’s fair next to Salones Castillo de la Cruz, the “torture chamber” in the Paseo de Santa Clara, an old weaponry exhibition also in the Paseo de Santa Clara, Witches in the Middle Ages in Calle Colegio, “The Farm” in Calle Rafael Tegeo and the falconry display next to Salones Castillo de la Cruz.
Opening times are from 10.30 to 14.30 and from 16.00 to 21.30, with the exception of the food and drink stalls, which will remain open at lunchtime. The main entrance is at the start of the Gran Vía at the junction with Calle Raimundo Rodríguez.
