San Javier Today is a website set up by Murcia Today specifically for residents of the urbanisation in Southwest Murcia, providing news and information on what’s happening in the local area, which is the largest English-speaking expat area in the Region of Murcia.
When submitting text to be included on San Javier Today, please abide by the following guidelines so we can upload your article as swiftly as possible:
Send an email to editor@spaintodayonline.com or contact@murciatoday.com
Attach the information in a Word Document or Google Doc
Include all relevant points, including:
Who is the organisation running the event?
Where is it happening?
When?
How much does it cost?
Is it necessary to book beforehand, or can people just show up on the day?
…but try not to exceed 300 words
Also attach a photo to illustrate your article, no more than 100kb

December 3 to 7 Lorca Christmas market!
Food, Christmas decorations, sweet wine, craft beers and live music at the festive market in Lorca
The annual Christmas market returns to Calle Corredera in Lorca over the weekend of 3rd to 7th December, when more than 25 stands and stalls will be in place offering arts and crafts and refreshments while accompanied by music and other entertainment.
This is only the third edition of the Lorca Christmas market by it has already become a fixture in the calendar, combining gastronomy, trade and the festive spirit over the long holiday weekend which contains two national holidays (6th and 8th December).
On all four days the market opens from 11.00 to 14.00 and then from 18.00 to 21.00 (extended to 23.00 on Friday and Saturday), and among other things there will be a stand selling Christmas cacti and other festive plants to complete the decoration of your home, while elsewhere there are going to be plenty of festive sweets, craft beers and wine available!
Every evening between 19.00 and 20.00 visitors are offered a glass of sweet wine with a sweet, on top of which the following entertainments are scheduled:
Wednesday December 3
11.30: Children’s choirs.
12.00: Official opening ceremony.
18.30: More children’s carols.
19.00 to 20.00: Free glasses of sweet wine with typical desserts.
19.30: Music from the Escuela Lorquina de Trovo.
Thursday December 4
11.30 and 18.00: Children’s choirs.
19.00 to 20.00: Free glasses of sweet wine with typical desserts.
19.30 to 21.00: A performance by Coros y Danzas de Lorca.
Friday December 5
12.00: Children’s choir.
19.00 to 20.00: Free glasses of sweet wine with typical desserts.
19.30: Concert by the Coral Santa Cecilia.
20.30: Live entertainment from “Tres Jódar”.
Saturday December 6
11.00: A gathering of traditional “cuadrillas” music and dance groups from La Torrecilla, Purias and La Hoya.
18.00: A performance by Coros y Danzas Virgen de las Huertas.
19.00 to 20.00: Free glasses of sweet wine with typical desserts.
19.30: Concert by the Coral de Santiago.
Sunday December 7
12.00: Music from the Escuela de Folclore de Campillo.
13.15: Live entertainment from “Tres Jódar”.
