Construction to begin on the new five-star hotel and football pitches in Condado de Alhama this February
The project, led by Alhama Nature in partnership with Wyndham Hotels, is expected to start this February and the hotel is due to open in summer 2027

Construction is set to start in February 2026 on the new five-star hotel in the Condado de Alhama urbanization, followed immediately by the first two football pitches of the Alhama Nature sports complex.
The project, led by Alhama Nature in collaboration with Wyndham Registry Collection, was formalised at FITUR, the tourism fair in Madrid. Mayor Rosa Sánchez joined Mariano Sánchez, CEO of Alhama Nature, Felipe Moreno from Laiaar Life SL, and Alejandro Scholtz from Wyndham Hotels for the signing.

Mariano Sánchez, a former footballer and ex-captain of FC Cartagena, is the founder of Pinatar Arena Football Centre in San Pedro del Pinatar. It opened its doors in 2013 and has grown into an internationally recognised venue. It was selected as one of 45 locations that will host the teams for the 2030 World Cup. This new five-star hotel and Alhama Nature sports complex is the last link in his vision for the Region. This new luxury accommodation means they will attract even more high-profile teams to the area.
The hotel will have 96 rooms, a pool and plenty of space for guests to relax, whether they’re visiting for sport or on holiday. The project is expected to create more than 60 jobs, with an investment of over €10 million.
Construction will follow a modular system, designed to fit naturally into the surroundings and keep sustainability in mind. The first two football pitches should be ready this summer, while the hotel is planned to open in summer 2027.
Mayor Rosa Sánchez said the project shows how sport and tourism can work together in Alhama de Murcia.
“From today, a project that has been years in the making becomes a reality,” Mariano Sánchez added, referring to all the work and planning carried out beforehand.
