CONFIRMED: Volotea flights from Murcia to France this summer
Murcia airline Volotea has confirmed there will be a new flight route from Murcia to France for the summer 2025 season

Passengers flying from Murcia’s Corvera Airport will have even more options this summer, with Volotea confirming new direct flights to Marseille in addition to their existing route to Barcelona.
Starting from Monday July 7, 2025, Volotea will operate two weekly flights between Murcia and Marseille. Services will run on Mondays and Thursdays, offering a convenient link between the Region of Murcia and southern France. The addition of this French destination complements the airline’s current operations between Corvera Airport and Barcelona.
The Marseille connection marks a significant expansion of Murcia Airport’s limited international offering and it is hoped this will provide a valuable boost to the airport’s summer schedule, opening up the Region to more international destinations.
In support of these routes, Volotea will receive €1.6 million from the Institute of Tourism of the Region of Murcia (ITREM) to promote the region as a tourist destination. The airline will design and implement a marketing strategy focused on increasing awareness and encouraging travel from Barcelona and France.
According to the terms of the contract, at least half of the promotional budget must be used for external advertising campaigns, while up to 49% can be invested in Volotea’s own marketing channels. Campaigns are expected to be rolled out over a 12-month period following the contract signing, with strict supervision and approval by ITREM.
The largest share of the promotional spend, €1.1 million, will target Barcelona, while around €500,000 will be dedicated to France.
Boost for Barcelona flights

Volotea, founded by Murcia native Carlos Muñoz, has seen solid demand on its existing route from Murcia to Barcelona, with planes operating at over 80% capacity. As a result, the airline will continue with two weekly flights between Corvera and Barcelona (Mondays and Fridays), offering a total of 37,700 seats for sale from June 2025 to March 2026 across 216 flights.
In contrast, Volotea’s earlier route between Murcia and Madrid, launched in December 2023, struggled with low occupancy and has been discontinued as of the beginning of March.
The launch of the new Marseille route, alongside the continuation of the Barcelona service, signals positive developments for Murcia’s Corvera Airport. With these additions, the airport strengthens its summer 2025 flight schedule, providing better connectivity for travellers within Spain and now also to southern France.
