CHANGE OF DATE - December 28 The traditional Christmas swim in Los Alcázares!
The annual dip in the Mar Menor has been put back 7 days due to recent heavy rain
One of the most eagerly awaited festive events in Los Alcázares, the Christmas dip in the Mar Menor, has unfoirtunately had to be put back a week due to the recent heavy rain in the area, which has led to the condition of the seawater becoming less than optimal.
This is NOT a sporting event, it’s just for fun, and many of those taking part don Santa costumes or other festive attire, and its popularity grows year by year as it cements itself in the December calendar along with other traditions. The swim is held over a distance of just 100 metres – even I could manage that! – and of course it’s accopmanied by plenty of music, fun and laughter.
But in 2025, whereas the swim was to be held on Sunday 21st December at 12.00 midday, it has now been an nounced that it will take place instead on Sunday 28th December at the beach of Playa Carrión next to the Club Náutico Mar Menor.
All of those already registered to take part will still be able to do so, the only difference being that it will happen after their Christmas lunch rather than before!
