Celebrating 20 years of nature, fun, and learning at Terra Natura Benidorm
A family favourite that’s grown into a top spot for wildlife and wild adventures
Terra Natura Benidorm has come a long way since it first opened its gates in 2005. What started as a passion project with a focus on education and family fun has blossomed into one of the Valencian Community's best-loved nature parks.
Sprawled across more than 32 hectares, the park is home to over 200 species, many of them endangered, and brings the wild world to life with stunning immersive habitats representing places like Pangea, Asia, and America. Add to that the nearby Aqua Natura water park’s thrilling slides and pools, and you have a place where adventure and learning go hand in hand.
In 2013, joining the Fuertes Group gave the park a boost, helping it grow with better facilities, a talented team, and a strong commitment to animal welfare and sustainability. Terra Natura isn’t just about fun - it’s an open-air classroom, too. With programmes for schools, interactive workshops, summer camps, and live shows, it makes the natural world accessible and inspiring for all ages.

And it doesn’t stop there. The park has become a European leader in conservation, shining through breeding programmes like its amazing success with Indian rhinoceroses, a feat no other park in Spain has matched. It’s also a vital part of Alicante’s community, helping to attract tourists year-round and encouraging everyone to care for the environment.
Just this year, the park marked a special occasion with Chiqui, their beloved white rhinoceros, celebrating his 39th birthday with joy and fanfare; an example of the love and care they give to their animals.
This year, Terra Natura has been celebrating its 20th anniversary with a full calendar including new water attractions and the festive Holi (traditional Hindu celebration known as the Festival of Colours ) birthday of Petita, the beloved elephant. Looking forward, the park is continuing to grow with new attractions, family events, and a strong focus on science and animal welfare. It’s a place where memories are made, learning happens naturally, and respect for nature flourishes.
So whether you’re visiting with family or looking for a day filled with wildlife wonders, Terra Natura Benidorm is a must-see on the Costa Blanca.
