Bids invited for the contract to begin work on the Los Alcázares cycle lane project
The first stage will run along the coast from the beach of Playa de la Hita to Avenida Radiobaliza Óscar
As Los Alcázares continues to strive for the development of sustainable and environmentally friendly tourism, the contract has now been put out to tender for work to complete the first stage of the local bicycle lane network, with a base tender price of 200,000 euros plus IVA.
This initial stage will be a long the seafront promenade from the beach of Playa de la Hita to Avenida Radiobaliza Óscar and is financed by EU Next Generation funds. When completed it will be not only a step in the right direction as regards sustainable tourist development but also a welcome novelty for the many residents who move around the town on two wheels on a daily basis.
However, there is much more to come. The first stage of approximately 5 km represents only around 20 per cent of the whole project!
