Berber pirate raids fiestas of Los Alcázares included in National Historical Reenactments Association
The 2025 edition of the fiestas takes place from 17th to 20th April
The annual fiestas of the Berber pirate raids in Los Alcázares have been admitted to the Asociación Española de Fiestas y Recreaciones Históricas (the Spanish Association of Historical Fiestas and Reenactments) prior to the holding of this year’s event during Easter Week, from April 17 to 20.
What this means for the fiestas, and for the town of Los Alcázares, is that the event will benefit from the prestige and publicity which being in the association provides – amendments have already been made to the website www.fiestashistoricas.es to include them, highlighting elements of the annual celebrations such as the lighting of the flame, the disembarkation of the Berbers and the recreations of the skirmishes which took place on the coast of the Mar Menor in centuries gone by.
At the same time, the Fiestas de las Incursiones Berberiscas are now automatically included in the “Confederation Européenne des Fêtes y Manifestations Históriques (CEFMH)”, which is based in Brussels.
For more local information contact the tourist offices in Los Alcázares or go to the home page of Los Alcázares Today.
