B Clean team gets to work on latest Camposol gardening project
Camposol residents are invited to support the weekly project with donations or by joining the volunteer group
The B Clean volunteer gardening group has begun a new phase of work on Camposol, focusing this week on trimming and clearing the central reservation along Avenida de los Covachos.
Volunteers started at the bottom of the hill to avoid getting in the way of town hall contractors, who began their own work at the top end of the road on the same day. The council team is responsible for pruning the tall palm trees, a job that the volunteer group can no longer carry out safely.
The hope is that the professional contractors will finish their part of the project by next Tuesday so that B Clean can continue tidying and maintaining the ground level areas without interruption. The group plans to keep working its way along the road as soon as access becomes easier.
As with all of their projects, the volunteers rely on donations from local residents to keep their equipment running. Fuel for strimmers and other power tools is paid for entirely through the generosity of the community. Anyone who would like to contribute can look out for Mags, who regularly collects donations outside the Consum supermarket with the group’s collection bucket.Residents are also welcome to stop and speak to volunteers when they see them working at the roadside.
The team is always happy to welcome new helpers, and anyone interested in getting involved is encouraged to get in touch. The group meets every Tuesday morning and would be delighted to hear from people willing to lend a hand, whether on a regular basis or just from time to time.
