August 9 to 16 Annual fiestas in the Sierra Espuña village of Gebas
The mountains of Alhama de Murcia present a week of festivities in Gebas!
Between 9th and 16th August the outlying district and village of Gebas in the municipality of Alhama de Murcia, which nestles in the foothills of the Sierra Espuña mountain range, is holding its annual fiestas in honour of the Purísima Concepción, with a mixed programme of activities for residents and visitors to enjoy.
All of the activities take place by the little social centre and church, looking out over the valley. The easiest map to follow is that leading to the Mirador of Gebas, which gives views across the Barrancos de Gebas.
The programme for the fiestas of Gebas 2026 includes the following:
Sunday August 9
8.00: “Marcha al Berro”, a guided hike to the neighbouring village of El Berro, starting at the Salón Social in Gebas. The registration cost of 6.50 euros includes insurance, a sandwich, a cold drink and a small gift, and registration is open until August 4 at diegoandreocrespo@gmail.com or on 619 386295. Payment is by Bizum to the same telephone number.
Friday August 14

The event is organized by ALHAMA COYM and registration, costing just 5 euros is available from the organization and from local sources in Gebas.
A head torch, hand torch and plenty of drinking water are essential!
20.30: The procession in honour of the Virgen de la Purísima Concepción, accompanied by the drums and cornets band of the Hermandad de Nuestra Señora de los Dolores y de la Soledad.
