

Guidelines for submitting articles to San Javier Today
Hello, and thank you for choosing sanjavier.today to publicise your organisation’s info or event.
San Javier Today is a website set up by Murcia Today specifically for residents of the urbanisation in Southwest Murcia, providing news and information on what’s happening in the local area, which is the largest English-speaking expat area in the Region of Murcia.
When submitting text to be included on San Javier Today, please abide by the following guidelines so we can upload your article as swiftly as possible:

Attach the information in a Word Document or Google Doc
Include all relevant points, including:
Who is the organisation running the event?
Where is it happening?
When?
How much does it cost?
Is it necessary to book beforehand, or can people just show up on the day?
…but try not to exceed 300 words
Also attach a photo to illustrate your article, no more than 100kb
August 2025 Night visits and other activities at the Roman Theatre of Cartagena and the Molinete Roman forum district
Tours of all shapes and sizes and for all the family at the main historic sites of Cartagena
A variety of summer tours and events are being held at the Roman Theatre and the Molinete archaeological site in Cartagena this August, including various taking place after sunset in cooler temperatures and a far more atmospheric setting!
The activities offered by Cartagena Puerto de Culturas during August include the following:
Fridays at 21.00: The Molinete archaeological park offers a route including the 2,000-year-old thermal baths, places of religious worship, old Roman streets and even private homes.
Price 12 euros.
Saturdays at 21.00: Chances to visit the Roman Theatre under the stars, enjoy the monument built on the orders of the Emperor Augustus. Dramatized visits are also available, enabling you to see the theatre through the eyes of its architect, Vitruvius!
Price 12 euros, 18 euros for the dramatized visit.
Open doors days at the Roman Theatre Museum from 10.00 to 20.00 between 11th and 15th August.
Tuesday to Friday at 10.30: A guided tour entitled “De Leonardo a Vitruvio: El arte de medir la belleza” (From Leonardo to Vitruvius, the art of measuring beauty). The tour starts at the panormaic lift and continues at the Castillo de la Concepción, the ruined former Cathedral of Santa María and the façade of the Palacio Pascual Riquelme before reaching the Roman Theatre.
Tickets 16 euros.
Wednesdays and Fridays at 18.00: La Máquina del Tiempo, guided virtual reality tours which allow you to see the theatre in the glory and pomp of its heyday in the 1st century AD through the wonders of tablet technology.
Price 12 euros.
Thursdays at 10.30: A guided tour in which you can learn about the way of life in the Roman city of Carthago Nova, “Ciudadanos de un Imperio” (Citizens of an Empire). The route inlcudes not only the Theatre and the Forum district but also the Casa de la Fortuna, a complete home for the early years of the 1st millennium decorated with murals and mosaics.
Price 16 euros.
Thursdays and Saturdays at 18.00: “Theatrum”, a tour for all the family involving a visit to the Theatre! Visitors learn about theatre, religion and politics in the Roman Empire, and the kind of shows staged at the Theatre.
Tickets 4 euros.
Sundays at 10.30: Del Teatro a la Domus del Pórtico, a guided tour starting at the Roman Theatre and heading for the Callejón de la Soledad, location of the Domus del Pórtico.
Price 7 euros.
