August 17 to 23 Bat workshops and exhibitions in Alhama de Murcia villages
The regional parks service of Murcia goes bats this summer in Gebas and El Berro!
Never mind Batman, the real bats we see around dusk during the summer in the Region of Murcia are superheroes in their own right, hunting down mosquitos and other flying insects with their incredible radar-detection capabilities which have developed over millions of years!
They may give some people the heebie-jeebies, but this flying mammal is an essential part of the ecosystem and during August a series of three workshops is being held in outlying districts of Alhama de Murcia to educate youngsters about their importance.
These events require no prior registration: just turn up at the following locations:
Saturday August 16: The Colegio Sierra Espuña in Casas Nuevas (Mula) (11.30 to 13.00)
Sunday August 17: The Salón Social in Gebas (10.30 to 12.30)
Saturday August 23: The car park outside the Sierra Espuña campsite in El Berro (11.30 to 13.00)
