April 12 Meet abandoned greyhounds in Los Alcázares!
Galgos del Sol are looking for supporters and possible adoption families in the Plaza del Espejo in Los Alcázares
The plight of abandoned greyhounds is well known in the Region of Murcia but there are various charity organizations helping these worthy animals, which make for great pets, and one of them is visiting the Plaza del Espejo on the seafront of Los Alcázares (click for map) on Sunday 12th April.
The Galgos del Sol group is coming to the shore of the Mar Menor to offer locals a chance to see some of the great work they do in rescuing and looking after the dogs as well as offering them up for adoption by suitable families, as well as publicizing ways in which you can help. They will be in the Plaza del Espejo from 11.00 to 15.00 and everyone is welcome to come and take an interest – who knows, you may even be tempted to take one of the animals in!
For more local information in English including news, what’s on and visiting advice, contact the tourist offices in Los Alcázares (main telephone number 968 575756) or go to the home page of Los Alcázares Today.
