San Javier Today is a website set up by Murcia Today specifically for residents of the urbanisation in Southwest Murcia, providing news and information on what’s happening in the local area, which is the largest English-speaking expat area in the Region of Murcia.

When submitting text to be included on San Javier Today, please abide by the following guidelines so we can upload your article as swiftly as possible:

Attach the information in a Word Document or Google Doc

Include all relevant points, including:

Who is the organisation running the event?

Where is it happening?

When?

How much does it cost?

Is it necessary to book beforehand, or can people just show up on the day?

April 10 to 12 Olé Fest in Los Alcázares


A typical Andalusian spring fair takes over the centres of Los Alacázares and Los Narejos

April 10 to 12 Olé Fest in Los AlcázaresOver the weekend of 10th to 12th April anyone in Los Alcázares will be able to enjoy a fiesta of typical Spanish music, food and traditions in the bars, restaurants and other leisure establishments of the town as it celebrates its “Olé Fest”, an April fiesta in honour of everything that is Spanish.

During the three days local bars and restaurants will be decked out with all the regalia of the Spring Fairs, of which the most famous is held every year in Sevilla, and bars will be serving the typical Andalusian “rubijito” wine cocktail along with a selection of typical tapas.

The programme of live entertainment over the weekend includes the following:

April 10 to 12 Olé Fest in Los AlcázaresFriday April 10

19.30 to 21.30: Miguel y su Grupo de las Claras in Calle Río Nalón.

22.00: Salve Rociera con Coralito de Palma in Calle Río Nalón.

Saturday April 11

17.00 to 22.00: Aires del Rocío (the “rociero” vocal group of Cartagena), Davyd Freyre, Ballet Al-Andalus and Escuela Antonio Cuerva in Calle Río Nalón.

Sunday April 12

11.00 to 12.00: Flamenco parade with Arte Danza de La Unión in Boulevard Oasis.

16.00: Sevillana dancing workshop in Calle Río Nalón with Esther Marco.

17.00: Flamenco show in Calle Río Narcea (behind the CIS building).

18.00: Drumming concert in Calle Río Nalón.

During the three days, anyone ordering food and drinks and the participating venues for more than 10 euros is entitled to a free gift of the official “Olé Fest” fan as a free souvenir of the occasion!
