April 25 Hike along the GR-92 trail from Los Alcázares to Los Nietos
A 13-km walk along the coastal path of the Mar Menor
The GR-92 trail is one of Spain’s long-distance hiking routes, running all along the Mediterranean from Portbou, close to the border with France, to Tarifa, just west of the Strait of Gibraltar, and the section on the coast of the Mar Menor between Los Alcázares and Los Nietos is one of eight stages in the Region of Murcia.
As part of a concerted campaign to ensure that the route remains well signposted and maintained, this walk on Saturday 25th April is being held between the Balneario de la Encarnación in Los Alcázares and the Pescadería in Los Nietos, with everyone welcome to take part along the flat route.
Registration can be completed online here, the only proviso being that those taking part must be members of the Federation of Hiking and Mountaineering of the Region of Murcia or take out their own insurance for the day.
Enjoy the 13-km walk along the shore of the Mar Menor in the spring weather and do you bit to preserve this monumental walking route!
