The 1971 film The French Connection is being screened on Thursday April 23 in original language version at the Escuela de Artes Plásticas in the Universidad Popular Sutullena of Lorca (click for map), with all members of the public welcome to enjoy the event free of charge.
Directed by William Friedkin and starring Gene Hackman, Roy Scheider, and Fernando Rey, this action thriller film features two New York Police Department detectives pursuing a French heroin smuggler, and in 1972 was nominated for 8 Oscars, winning five including Best Picture, Best Actor and Best Director.
