April 2 to 5 International youth basketball tournament in San Javier

San Javier is co-host of the ZBK tournament along with La Unión and Cartagena

The international ZBK youth basketball tournament is being held in three coastal municipalities of the Costa Cálida between 2^nd and 15^th April, featuring more than 1,400 players belonging to 127 teams and the presence of clubs from the USA (NBA School), the Netherlands (Amsterdam Warriors) and Ivory Coast (Club Sporting D’Abidjan Treicheville).

One of the towns hosting the event is San Javier, where both the main hall and the secondary court at the municipal sports centre as well as the courts in La Manga del Mar Menor, El Mirador and that of Ruiz de Alda. The other centres are in neighbouring Cartagena and La Unión.

Matches are to be held all day, almost without interruption, from 9.00 in the morning to 9.00 at night, with boys and girls competing in 4 different age categories. Admission for spectators will be free of charge.

Among the leading Spanish clubs taking part are UCAM Murcia, CB Canarias, Baloncesto Torrelodones, Fuenlabrada and Granada.
