Guidelines for submitting articles to San Javier Today
Hello, and thank you for choosing sanjavier.today to publicise your organisation’s info or event.
San Javier Today is a website set up by Murcia Today specifically for residents of the urbanisation in Southwest Murcia, providing news and information on what’s happening in the local area, which is the largest English-speaking expat area in the Region of Murcia.
When submitting text to be included on San Javier Today, please abide by the following guidelines so we can upload your article as swiftly as possible:

Attach the information in a Word Document or Google Doc
Include all relevant points, including:
Who is the organisation running the event?
Where is it happening?
When?
How much does it cost?
Is it necessary to book beforehand, or can people just show up on the day?
…but try not to exceed 300 words
Also attach a photo to illustrate your article, no more than 100kb

April 19 Lorca Half Marathon – registration now open
A 2,500-euro bonus prize for anyone who can beat the course record in Lorca!
The 38th edition of the annual half marathon in Lorca, which coincides with the 50th anniversary of the local A.D. Eliocroca athletics club, is being held on Sunday 19th April, with registration now open online here until 14th April.
Racing begins at 9.30 and apart from the main events secondary races are being held over distances of 7 km, 14 km and 21.1 km (the “military half marathon”. The price for registration is currently 13 euros for members of the Murcia athletics federation and 15 euros for non-members, rising steadily as the race draws nearer.
As for the course, it begins and ends in Avenida Europa in the eastern outskirts of the city and includes Avenida Juan Carlos I, Calle Jerónimo Santa Fe, Avenida Adolfo Suárez and the Plaza del Trabajo in the district of La Viña, while prizes are available of up to 2,500 in the case of anyone beating the course record (currently 1 hour 2 minutes 25 seconds for men and 1 hour 13 minutes 25 seconds for women).
A locker service, showers and toilet facilities are provided for runners close to the finish line.
