April 17 to 20 Storming Lorca castle, a fun activity for all the family
Join the medieval knights defending the impregnable fortress above the city of Lorca!
Throughout the long weekend of Easter a special activity for all the family is being held at the “Fortaleza del Sol”, the imposing castle which has stood on the hill above Lorca since the expulsion of the Moors from the territory in the 1240s.
During the Middle Ages the castle was never taken by enemy forces, and between 17th and 20th April you’re welcome to try your hand at helping the knight commanding the fortress in keeping new waves of attackers at bay! Your true aim and your balance will be put to the test as you undergo medieval training, learning how to use a crossbow, a bow and arrow and a lance, and adults are encouraged to take part and show the youngsters how it should be done!
If you pass the tests, which begin at 11.30 on each of the four days and last approximately 90 minutes, you will be deemed worthy knights of the Castle of Lorca!
Online booking is available online here, with discount registration prices starting at 9.75 euros per head until 31st March (12.75 euros for over 16s). As of 1st April prices rise to 12.75 and 14.75 euros respectively.
These prices include entry to the Torre Alfonsina keep, but not the Torre del Espolón or the remains of the medieval synagogue.
Further information is available by telephone on 968 479003 or by email at info@lorcatalledeltiempo.com.
