Andalucía weekly weather forecast August 10-13: Mountain storms persist as the heat refuses to ease
Yet another hot week ahead with heat and storm warnings continuing, misty coastal mornings and temperatures climbing further by Thursday
The weekend kept inland areas, across Andalucía, firmly in the grip of intense heat while mountain storms rumbled through the northeast. This week follows a very similar script, though temperatures nudge even higher by Thursday. The coast stays more manageable, but for much of the interior there's no real let-up in sight.
Monday August 10
Andalucía temperatures, Monday August 10
Predominantly clear to partly cloudy skies, with the familiar intervals of low cloud and mist along the Mediterranean coast and the chance of fog patches. Cloud builds in the eastern inland mountains during the afternoon, bringing showers and thunderstorms that could be accompanied by hail and very strong gusts. Heat warnings are in place for Córdoba, Granada and Jaén, with storm warnings covering Almería and Granada too. Temperatures change little across most of the region, though the western Mediterranean coast sees maximums rise. Winds are light and variable, turning westerly along the Atlantic coast with moderate gusts in the afternoon.
Tuesday August 11
Andalucía temperatures, Tuesday August 11
Clear to partly cloudy once more, with low cloud and mist returning along the Mediterranean coast. Cloud develops over the far eastern mountains again, with another chance of afternoon thunderstorms. Heat warnings continue for Córdoba, Granada, Jaén and now Seville too. Temperatures are broadly unchanged, with minimums slightly lower in places, though Cádiz sees a comfortable 27°C . Winds stay light and variable, turning westerly along the Atlantic coast through the day.
Wednesday August 12
Andalucía temperatures, Wednesday August 12
Another largely clear day with some cloud about and the usual misty start along the coast. Cloud develops inland during the afternoon, with thunderstorms possible in the eastern mountains. Temperatures are unchanged or rising slightly, more noticeably across the western third of the region, meaning Huelva and the Atlantic side feel the warmth building. Winds remain light and variable, turning westerly along the Atlantic coast.
Thursday August 13
Andalucía temperatures, Thursday August 13
Clear to partly cloudy, with low cloud and mist along the coast as usual and cloud building inland over both the eastern mountains and the Sierra Morena during the day. Temperatures rise in the western third while staying put elsewhere, with Córdoba forecast to reach around 43°C. Málaga enjoys a relatively comfortable day by comparison at 33°C. Winds are light and variable through the morning, turning southerly during the afternoon, with Tarifa and the Strait seeing the usual breezy conditions.
It's a week of familiar patterns, but the numbers keep creeping up and a reminder that August in Andalucía still has plenty of heat left to deliver.
