Alhama residents mustn't miss this local tax deadline to avoid extra charges

British expats have no excuse not to remember this date!

Alhama de Murcia town council has reminded residents that they have until November 5 to pay this year’s local taxes during the voluntary payment period.

This includes the following taxes and fees:

• Property Tax (IBI) for urban and rural properties
• Business Activity Tax
• Waste collection fee (second half of the year)
• Permanent vehicle access permits

There are various payment methods available:

• Through the banks listed on your payment notice (including the option to pay with Bizum)
• In person at the Oficinas de Atención al Contribuyente (taxpayer service offices):

Plaza de las Américas, 006 Bj: Monday to Friday, 9:00–14:00, and Tuesdays 16:00–18:30

Condado de Alhama, “Al-Kasar” shopping centre: Monday to Friday, 9:00–13:30

If you haven’t received your payment notice, you can ask for a duplicate at either office.

You can also download it online from the town hall’s website through the tax management section.

Residents can also set up a direct debit for future payments, making it easier to pay on time.

After November 5, any unpaid bills will move into the enforcement stage, which means extra charges, interest and collection costs will be added.
