Accommodation in Alhama de Murcia, Cortijo Las Golondrinas
Three country cottages in Gebas, in the foothills of Sierra Espuña
Cortijo Las Golondrinas (“the swallows” in English) is a converted country dwelling which was originally built in approximately 1850 and was restored and renovated in 2000, respecting the traditional style and building materials of the Sierra Espuña mountain range.
The result is a pleasant and welcoming atmosphere in a beautiful location, with the cottage located on a fenced plot of 1,500 square metres where environmental sustainability is also respected: solar panels are used to supply electricity, for example.
Cortijo Las Golondrinas offers accommodation to a total of 16 guests in 3 separate houses: 8 in "La Principal” (plus two sofa beds), 4 in “La Tená” and another 2 in “La Casica”. Private parking is provided for all three cottages, and all are equipped with central heating (plus a fireplace in “La Principal”), TV and DVD, barbecue and garden area.
The cottages are accessible for those of limited mobility.
As well as a comfortable place to stay in the mountains, one of the main attractions of Cortijo Las Golondrinas is of course the location within the Sierra Espuña, where the mountains of central Murcia attract numerous visitors interested in walking, mountain biking, quad biking, climbing, photography, and a host of other activities. Gebas is also within easy driving distance of the towns of Aledo, Alhama, Totana, Mula and Pliego, and the spectacular lunar landscape of the Barrancos de Gebas.
