A taste of home: Caser Residencial Málaga hosts successful Gastronomic Fair
Residents, families and staff all came together to share regional dishes and traditions
Caser Residencial Málaga recently held a vibrant and flavour-filled event that brought together residents, their families and centre staff to celebrate regional culinary traditions. The activity, titled the ‘Gastronomic Fair of the Provinces’, turned the centre into a showcase of Spanish cuisine, where everyone contributed typical products and dishes from their home regions.
Participants prepared and brought food representing their cultural roots, some cooked dishes in situ, before sharing a communal tasting that highlighted the rich diversity of Spain’s provinces. The fair created a warm, festive atmosphere and provided a memorable opportunity for connection across generations and backgrounds.
The event featured an impressive variety of regional specialities, including salmorejo cordobés, caldereta del Mar Menor, chanfaina salmantina, Perotas and traditional ensaladilla. Guests also enjoyed snails, embutido malagueño (local cured meats) and altramuces (lupin beans).
These homemade delicacies sparked conversation, laughter and memories, offering a powerful reminder of the role food plays in identity and wellbeing.
The success of the fair went beyond the enjoyment of good food. It fostered a sense of community and belonging within the centre, encouraging residents to share stories and traditions from their provinces while strengthening ties with loved ones and staff. For many, it was not just a culinary experience, but an emotional and social one as well.
Caser Residencial Málaga hopes to continue this initiative with future editions, inviting even more residents and their families to take part in celebrating regional flavours and personal histories.
