A cold snap comes with the rain this weekend: Murcia weather forecast March 13-16
Not only will it be very windy and wet this weekend, but the nights are about to get a whole lot chillier
The rain continues in Murcia this weekend thanks to Storm Konrad, and is accompanied by thunderstorms, strong winds and a sheer drop in temperatures, and maybe even some hail in parts.
On Monday and Tuesday of this week, there were yellow weather alerts issued by the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) for strong winds in the coastal parts of the Region of Murcia. While they were removed on Wednesday, these alerts are back again for Thursday and Friday.
For Thursday March 13, the yellow risk alert will be activated all along the coastal areas, with a warning for winds of up to 70 kilometres per hour and waves of 2-3 metres high. This will be in place starting from 3pm on Thursday and lasting until midday on Friday 14.

As well as the strong winds, Aemet also predicts for Thursday scattered showers and thunderstorms, with Friday’s forecast being even more severe.

Saturday 15 should actually be much calmer, with Aemet forecasting “fairly cloudy skies, with intervals of medium clouds” but also the possibility of some “light rainfall,” though not the dramatic thunderstorms of the day before.
What Saturday will bring is a sharp decline in night-time temperatures by as much as 5 or 6 degrees. While the maximum temperatures will remain unchanged at around 17-18ºC during the day, the nights could bring frosts in the northwest of the Region.

Temperatures will remain the same for Sunday 16, and the rain will be somewhat heavier and more persistent, though for now no thunderstorms are forecast and we can expect only “light westerly winds”.
