24-hour tourist information office planned in Los Narejos
A combination of staffing and IT will offer a 24-hour service in this popular area of Los Alcázares
Approval has been given in Los Alcázares for plans to create a new tourist office in Avenida Río Nalón in Los Narejos, where a combination of staffing and information technology will offer users service and information 24 hours a day.
The budget has been calculated at precisely 151,781.50 euros (including IVA) and if everything proceeds according to plan the new office should be operational by late this year or early in 2026, according to a press release issued on 18th August.
The new facility is to occupy an area of approximately 40 square metres on one of the busiest streets in the municipality, close to hotels, other tourist accommodation and numerous shops and restaurants. Furthermore, the street has recently undergone a modernization process, and the new glass-fronted office, equipped with air conditioning, is designed to offer a modern and fully accessible service suited to the needs of the 21st century visitor.
At times when the office is not manned consultations will be available via touch-screen technology and Councllor María José Díaz Aragón explains that the idea is that it should be an open-plan space where any visitor can receive information at any time of day. This is in line with the strategies outlined to consolidate Los Alcázares as a destination where intelligent tourism combines with modernity and respect for the environment all year round.
