February 22 Free guided tour of Yecla with glassmaking visit included
The old town of Yecla and the Ópalo traditional glassmaking workshop
As part of the sports and tourism program in Yecla during the first quarter of 2025 this free guided tour is being held on Saturday February 22, beginning at 10.30 in the Plaza Mayor.
The route first takes in some of the most important historic buildings and monuments in the old town, including the old church and the basilica, before moving on to Ópalo, the traditional glassblowing establishment of Carmen Azorín. Here she shows how artisan glass objects are designed and created.
Although the walk is not an especially testing one, comfortable walking footwear is of course advised.
The two-and-a-half-hour tour is free of charge but prior booking is necessary online here. This kind of visit in Yecla is normally fully booked very quickly, so don’t dally for too long before reserving your place!
Further information is available from the Yecla tourist office (telephone 968 754104, email turismo@yecla.es) and from the Teatro Concha Segura (telephone 968 751134, email teatro@yecla.es).
