Guidelines for submitting articles to San Javier Today
Hello, and thank you for choosing sanjavier.today to publicise your organisation’s info or event.
San Javier Today is a website set up by Murcia Today specifically for residents of the urbanisation in Southwest Murcia, providing news and information on what’s happening in the local area, which is the largest English-speaking expat area in the Region of Murcia.
When submitting text to be included on San Javier Today, please abide by the following guidelines so we can upload your article as swiftly as possible:
Send an email to editor@spaintodayonline.com or contact@murciatoday.com
Attach the information in a Word Document or Google Doc
Include all relevant points, including:
Who is the organisation running the event?
Where is it happening?
When?
How much does it cost?
Is it necessary to book beforehand, or can people just show up on the day?
…but try not to exceed 300 words
Also attach a photo to illustrate your article, no more than 100kb
January to March 2025, sporting events and guided tours in Yecla
Guided walks and hikes, sporting events and a tapas and wine route in the first quarter of the year
Following the success of the first ever "Sporting Week" in Yecla last April, an event which promotes not only sports and adventure tourism but also a healthier and more active lifestyle among local residents, the program of events in the town during the first quarter of 2025 is littered with opportunities to get the blood circulating with a brisk walk!
The outline of scheduled events for January to March 2025 includes the following:
January 27: A talk on the role of motivation in diet, physical activity and health, at the Casa de la Cultura at 20.00.
February 1: UTY Trail Running training over courses of 12.6 and 26.7 km, click here for details and registration.
February 9: The 15th annual “Ciudad de Yecla” Duathlon, for further information and registration consult social media accounts of @ClubTriatlonArabiYecla.
February 15: UTY Trail Running training over courses of 12.6 and 26.7 km, click here for details and registration.
February 16: Guided hike organized by the Centro del Excursionista in Yecla. Further details to follow.
February 18 to March 14: The annual Tapas and Wine route is held in the municipality. Further details to follow.
February 22: Guided tour of the historic city centre of Yecla and the old Ópalo glass-making workshop. Further details to follow.
February 22: Screening of “Voces Yeclanas” at the regional film library in the city of Murcia. This film documents the identity of the Yeclanos and the roots of that identity.
March 1: Carnival fiestas begin.
March 2: A free guided walk for all the family, tracing the history of the town and municipality of Yecla. Further details to follow.
March 7: Guided tour of the furniture and wine industries in Yecla with cisits to the Fama sofa factory and Bodegas la Purísima. Further details to follow.
March 8: Trail running championships, further details will appear here.
March 9: International Women’s Day guided tour. Further details to follow.
March 13: A talk on sports and adventure tourism at the Auditorio Municipal at 20.00.
March 14: An “Escuelas Activas” route, starting at 10.00.
March 15: Hiking, a healthy breakfast and yoga: further details to follow.
