San Javier Today is a website set up by Murcia Today specifically for residents of the urbanisation in Southwest Murcia, providing news and information on what’s happening in the local area, which is the largest English-speaking expat area in the Region of Murcia.

When submitting text to be included on San Javier Today, please abide by the following guidelines so we can upload your article as swiftly as possible:

Attach the information in a Word Document or Google Doc

Include all relevant points, including:

Who is the organisation running the event?

Where is it happening?

When?

How much does it cost?

Is it necessary to book beforehand, or can people just show up on the day?

October 4 Free gentle bird-watching hike in the sand dunes and salt flats of San Pedro del PinatarThe second World Migratory Bird Day of 2025 falls on 11th October, and one of the events being held to mark the occasion is this guided 4-kilometre walk in the Regional Park of the salt flats and sand dunes of San Pedro del Pinatar, a gentle stroll which is accessible to (virtually) all.

The walk is scheduled to last from 10.00 to 13.00 with frequent stops for observation, and participants are advised to bring along drinking water and binoculars. Participation is free of charge by prior registration is required online here.
